How do you know if something is working unless you monitor it??? At RECAL Microbials, LLC our goal is to prove the product to you and improve YOUR BOTTOM LINE. We monitor dry matter intakes, cow numbers, milk production, butter fat, protein, feed costs, income, 3.50% FCM, efficiency, and income over feed costs. By doing this we are seeing decrease dry matter intakes of anywhere from 4% to 8% depending on what percent forage diet and what’s going on in the herd and maintaining milk production, butter fat, protein, & body condition. Now remember the cows still need a ration balanced for what their dry matter intake is, so the ration needs to be re-balanced for the lower dry matter intakes. We are seeing improvement of income over feed cost ranging from $0.30 to $1.50 /cow/day, but not all farms are the same. Now you do the math.
