The drought this past summer really affected our feed supply and forced us to look for help in getting every last bit of nutrition out of it that we could. I have worked with Dr. G.W. Snider in the past on a few special cases and knew that he was the go to guy in the dairy industry. His involvement and research with RECAL PLUS is what really got me to try RECAL PLUS. We then started the feed trials and the real selling point to me was the difference in particle size remaining in the manure after just one week.

Since then we have put the whole herd on RECAL PLUS and it is doing exactly as advertised. We are getting much better utilization of feedstuffs then we had ever hoped for. The drought had left us with enough silage but just of very poor quality, so we were expecting a real drop in milk production, and that hasn't happened. Another thing that I have noticed is, before we started feeding RECAL PLUS we from time to time would have cows off feed, upset stomachs, and diarrhea. At that same time I was seeing red mold in my balage. As soon as we started feeding the RECAL PLUS the off feed cows, upset stomachs, and diarrhea seem to disappear. The manure got much more consistent and the dry matter intakes started to increase along with milk production and butterfat.

We just recently had our first vet check with all of the cows having been on RECAL PLUS since freshening in August or September and had 31 of 36 cows pregnant.

RECAL PLUS has done what it said it would. The cows have continued to clean up the feed bunks, get bred back and even increase in milk production and butterfat and all around vigor on some marginal feed. Can't wait to see what can happen with its use in the future. And just remember cows don't lie!!!
